Carpet Cleaners Knightsbridge Terms and Conditions of Service

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Knightsbridge provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming any service.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

Client means the person, firm or company requesting the services from Carpet Cleaners Knightsbridge.

Company means Carpet Cleaners Knightsbridge, the provider of the cleaning services.

Services means carpet, rug, upholstery and related cleaning and treatment services offered by the Company, including any additional services agreed between the parties.

Premises means the property or properties where the Services are to be carried out, whether residential or commercial.

Technician means an employee, contractor or representative of the Company assigned to carry out the Services.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides professional cleaning services for carpets, rugs, upholstery and related soft furnishings. The exact scope of work for each booking will be agreed at the time of quotation and confirmed prior to the appointment.

The Client is responsible for confirming that the requested Services are suitable for the type of flooring, fabric or surface at the Premises. The Company may refuse to carry out any work it reasonably considers unsafe, unsuitable or likely to cause damage.

While the Company aims to achieve the best possible cleaning results, stain and odour removal cannot be guaranteed. The outcome depends on factors including the nature and age of the stain, prior treatment, fibre type, and general condition of the item.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be made by the Client through the Company’s chosen communication channels. A booking is only confirmed when the Company has provided a confirmation and, where required, received any applicable deposit.

The Client must provide accurate information regarding the Premises and the items to be cleaned, including approximate room sizes, number and type of carpets or rugs, type of upholstery, level of soiling, access restrictions and any parking limitations. The Company reserves the right to amend the quoted price or decline the booking if the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate.

For larger jobs, commercial premises or specialised treatments, the Company may require a pre-service visit, photographs or a more detailed description before confirming the quotation and booking.

The Client must ensure that a responsible adult is available at the Premises at the agreed start time to grant access and discuss any specific requirements with the Technician, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

4. Quotation and Pricing

All quotations are based on the information provided by the Client and are valid for a limited period as specified by the Company at the time of quotation.

The Company reserves the right to revise the quotation if, upon arrival, the Technician finds that the condition, size, access or other relevant factors differ materially from those described by the Client. Any variation in price will be discussed with the Client before work begins or continues.

Prices are generally provided inclusive of labour, standard cleaning products and equipment necessary to complete the agreed Services, unless stated otherwise.

5. Access, Parking and Client Obligations

The Client must provide safe and reasonable access to the Premises for the Technician, including access to electricity, water and adequate lighting. If access is significantly restricted or unsafe, the Company may refuse to carry out all or part of the Services and may treat the visit as a late cancellation.

The Client is responsible for arranging parking close to the Premises, where required. Any parking charges, permits or congestion charges that apply in connection with the booking may be added to the final invoice.

The Client must remove small items, fragile objects, valuables, and personal belongings from areas to be cleaned. Large or heavy furniture will only be moved where it is safe and reasonable to do so, and at the Technician’s discretion. The Company is not responsible for any damage that arises from the movement of furniture requested or insisted upon by the Client against the Technician’s advice.

6. Health and Safety

The Company operates in accordance with health and safety requirements so far as is reasonably practicable. The Technician may refuse to work in any area that is deemed unsafe or where there is a risk to health, including but not limited to the presence of hazardous substances, infestations, exposed wiring or structural instability.

The Client must inform the Company in advance of any known health and safety risks at the Premises. The Client is responsible for keeping pets and children away from the work areas during and immediately after cleaning until all surfaces are dry and safe.

7. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the Services on the day of the visit. The Company accepts available payment methods as advised during the booking process.

For some bookings, including larger or commercial jobs, the Company may require a deposit or full prepayment prior to the scheduled appointment. Any such requirement will be communicated at the time of booking.

Where an invoice is issued with agreed credit terms, payment must be received in full by the due date shown on the invoice. The Company reserves the right to charge interest or late payment fees in accordance with applicable law for overdue amounts.

The Client is not entitled to withhold payment due to dissatisfaction with the outcome where the Technician has reasonably performed the Services with proper care and skill and where any limitations have been explained.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company reasonable notice. Specific notice periods and any applicable fees will be advised at the time of booking and may vary depending on the size and nature of the work.

If the Client cancels or reschedules with insufficient notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, which may be a fixed amount or a percentage of the quoted price.

If the Technician is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the Premises are not in a condition that allows the Services to be carried out, the Company may treat the visit as a late cancellation and charge the applicable fee.

The Company may cancel or reschedule a booking in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, transport disruption, illness, equipment failure or other emergencies. In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative appointment as soon as reasonably possible. The Company will not be liable for any indirect loss or inconvenience arising from such cancellations.

9. Service Quality and Complaints

The Company aims to deliver Services with reasonable care and skill. If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the work, they should notify the Company as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours of completion, so that the matter can be investigated.

Where a complaint is reasonably justified, the Company may, at its discretion, offer to re-clean the affected area or provide an appropriate partial refund. Any re-clean must normally take place within a reasonable time of the original appointment, subject to availability.

The Company’s obligation to rectify issues is limited to the specific areas or items where the concern arises and does not extend to a full refund of all Services unless required by law.

10. Limitations of Liability

The Company is insured in accordance with industry practice. However, the Company’s total liability in respect of any loss or damage arising from the Services shall, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be limited to the value of the specific Service provided on the date of the incident or to any amount actually recovered under the relevant insurance policy, whichever is greater.

The Company will not be liable for any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, shrinkage, colour loss, loose fibres, fraying, or defects in the carpet, rug, upholstery or other items, whether visible or not, that may become more apparent after cleaning.

The Company will not be responsible for damage where the Client has failed to disclose information relating to the composition, age or condition of the items, or for damage resulting from the use of cleaning agents or treatments previously applied by the Client or third parties.

Except where prohibited by law, the Company shall not be liable for loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Damage and Breakages

Any alleged damage or breakage must be reported to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within 24 hours of completion of the Services. The Client must provide details and, where possible, supporting evidence such as photographs.

Where the Company is found to be at fault, it may, at its discretion, repair the damage, arrange for a replacement, or offer compensation up to the applicable liability limit. The Company is not obliged to accept liability for damage reported outside a reasonable period after the Services have been completed.

12. Waste and Environmental Regulations

The Company will comply with relevant waste and environmental regulations when disposing of waste arising directly from its cleaning activities. This may include the safe handling and disposal of used cleaning solutions, extracted residues and other related materials.

The Client is responsible for the disposal of any general household or commercial waste, clutter, rubbish, or items not directly generated by the Company’s cleaning process. The Services do not include removal of bulk waste, hazardous substances or clinical waste.

The Company uses cleaning products and methods selected for effectiveness and safety. The Client should inform the Company in advance of any allergies, sensitivities or environmental concerns. While the Company will take reasonable steps to accommodate such requests, certain results cannot be guaranteed when alternative products or methods are used.

13. Property and Personal Items

The Client is advised to remove valuables and personal items from the areas where Services will be carried out. The Company does not accept responsibility for loss of money, jewellery, important documents or other high-value items left unattended at the Premises.

Keys held by the Company for the purpose of providing Services will be stored and used with reasonable care. The Company’s liability for lost keys is limited to the reasonable cost of a standard replacement key or lock, unless otherwise required by law.

14. Use of Equipment and Materials

All equipment and materials used by the Company remain the property of the Company or its suppliers. The Client must not use or tamper with any equipment brought onto the Premises by the Technician.

The Company may, at its discretion, agree to use products supplied by the Client. In such cases, the Company accepts no liability for any adverse effects, damage or reduced cleaning results caused by the Client’s products.

15. Insurance

The Company maintains insurance cover suitable for the nature of its Services. Details of insurance can be provided upon reasonable request. The Client is responsible for maintaining their own building and contents insurance for the Premises.

16. Data Protection and Privacy

The Company collects and processes personal data solely for the purpose of managing bookings, delivering Services, handling payments, and dealing with enquiries or complaints. Personal data will be kept secure and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to perform the Services, comply with legal obligations or with the Client’s consent.

By booking the Services, the Client consents to the Company holding their contact details and service history for administrative purposes and future reference.

17. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will apply to any new booking made after the date of publication. For ongoing or long-term arrangements, the Company will notify the Client of any material changes where reasonably practicable.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services provided by the Company, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

19. Severability

If any provision or part-provision of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, lawful and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any such modification or deletion shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or confirmation of booking issued by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence or understandings.
